Objective:

Work with Student Accounts and New Student Orientation to find a way to ensure that new students are enrolled in the placement exams they sign up for.


Deadline: TBD - recommend early May 2012?


Current status:

  • After some initial bugs the first week of orientation, it seems the process worked and we have received VERY few calls from June to 7/23/12 regarding missing exams. The calls we did get were from students who expected to see the tests the moment they signed up for orientation (Blackboard only updates once a day at midnight).

Milestones Overview

  • As per Mike Devlin, "Maria seems to have found a process that a Banner form uses to do mass registrations. Her testing is making us optimistic. I have bailed out of the development of this process, since it really is a Registrar project at this point. Maria is keeping me informed. I have every reason to believe that this will be a production process for this summer’s orientation."
  • New system is in place this summer (after the first week) we got a significantly decreased number of calls regarding this issue.
